An installation and a site specific performance

in collaboration with chef Vladimir Mukhin

part of Ikra Festival, Moscow

commissioned by Ksenya Tarakanova

The Small Table saw my visitors wearing a bib and an apron before joining me inside the Constructivist tower (a replica of the Communal Kitchen built in the city of Perm in 1929-30) and asking me the most important question in their life, the one they wake up with every morning - and still have no answer. The moment the question is posed one of the tower’s windows opens and a dish arrives. It’s always cooked individually by Vladimir Mukhin for every participant taking into account their personal data and matching their social profile. After hearing the question I start feeding the visitor while responding to them. It takes me the exact same amount of time as they finish their meal.

I kiss them on the forehead once we are done.
