Snowfavela (Favela Rocinha Under the Snow) is the third episode of a five-part Frozen Series by Fyodor Pavlov-Andreevich, depicting Brazil’s most known places of power. This moving image shows Rocinha, South America’s largest comunidade (250 000 inhabitants), all frozen, and the frost comes from Fyodor’s mouth. The artist — akin god Boreas — blows icy wind with all his might. The favela freezes before our eyes, and only regains its original form once the artist’s icy breath is exhausted. The five parts of the saga, gradually and insistently, build the new Brazil: ice-hot, ice-statuesque, ice-motionless.
